Sell Your Book On AmazonBrent Sampson (Outskirts Press, March 4, 2007)Reviewed by admin Mon 24 Nov 08 Bob's Rating: “Sell Your Book On Amazon” by Brent Sampson is a great “how to” book – in this case, “How to Sell Your Book On Amazon”. The author builds the book around a ranking system of stars – ranging from 5 (highly recommended” to 1 (to be avoided except in unusual circumstances). Sampson’s ranking system relates to the Amazon book ranking system with 5 star suggestions being the best strategy to boost your sales. My first impression of this ranking system was that it is a little too simplistic – would I use such suggestions? The answer was, “Yes”. I now find myself looking at the ranking for a topic before embarking on thinking about implementation. I like this book. In fact I have used it many times over, starting from the time I sent my first manuscript of “What To Do When You Become The Boss” to my publisher (who coincidentally happens to be Sampson’s Outskirts Press – I was not aware of this at the time). If you are an author, or thinking about becoming an author, buy this book. Work your way progressively through it. I can’t guarantee that it will bring you results, but I can guarantee (from my own experience with What To Do When You Become The Boss) that following Sampson’s suggestions will give you a head start over other authors. My only criticism, and it reflects the dynamic nature of Amazon not any fault of the author, is that some of the advice is now out of date. However, there is still so much here to use that I give the book five starts. |
