· Worked as a front line employee, supervisor, manager, senior manager, technical professional and internal HR consultant in three financial organisations.

· With two partners, founded Focus Learning Systems an HRD and communications consultancy (1989-2002)

· Established the National Learning Institute in 1995.

· Consulted and worked with:

- organisations such as Volvo, 3M, IBM, Westpac and many government departments

- a variety of industries including retail, manufacturing, transport, communications, pharmaceutical, real estate and many more

Career Summary

Bob Selden

Bob has over 30 years experience working in the areas of management and training and has qualifications in psychology, organisational psychology and management.

 

During his career, Bob has experienced first hand the challenges of both line and senior management roles.  Prior to commencing his consultancy work, his previous corporate role was as Senior Manager Policy & Planning for the State Bank of New South Wales where he was responsible for setting the HR policy for the bank.  This hands-on managerial experience together with his extensive consultancy work in Australia, Asia, Africa and Europe enables him to provide advice and assistance to organisations that is always practical and applicable.

 

He is a member of faculty for the Mobilizing People, leadership development program at IMD University Lausanne, Switzerland and for leadership and management development programs at the Australian Graduate School of Management in Sydney, Australia.
